Submissions Process

Topics and Types of Stories We Are Looking For:

Topics:

* Manuscripts which fit into our :60 Second Series, such as grief aid and other "bandage" topics for quick remedy pain relief. Past titles include: :60 Second Menopause Management, :60 Second Sleep Ease and :60 Second Stress Relief.

* Targeted self-help topics for general and specialty audiences written by mental health and other professionals. Among our latest titles include Widows Wear Stilettos, The Widower's Toolbox, Voices of Strength and Permanent Adolescence.

* Hard-hitting issues with news impact and publicity value. Past titles include Perscription Pot, Courageous Journey and Sweet Poison.

* Topics that fit into our Small Horizons Children's imprint, such as those which teach crisis, coping and service skills and are written by mental health professionals or educators. Among our most popular titles in this line include David and the Worry Beast and Not Everyone Is Nice.

Types of Stories

People who change the system. The courageous individual must be one of the characters in the story and has to be the author or co-author.

*Redemption/True Crime Stories
A person goes wrong, repents and then does something incredibly good for others. Crime oriented accounts are welcome, as long as there is a hero advancing justice, but no child abuse or incest stories, please. Similar titles in our line include Grave Accusations, Legacy of Courage (aka Catch My Mother's Killer) and Murder in Memphis.

*Exploring New Frontiers Stories
People who break or dismantle social or personal barriers. Some of the popular titles in this vein of our line include Klan-destine Relationships, A Mountain Too Far and Edgewalkers.

*Victim Stories
Victims who fight back and refuse to be victimized and then fight back for the rights of others or a good cause. Among the titles in our line of this nature include Mortal Justice, Saving Grace and Run Jane Run.

* We are seeking current issues and recent true crime stories in particular, preferably something within the last decade.

* New Horizon Press does NOT accept fiction, novels, memoirs, essays, plays, poetry or historical non-fiction.

* Manuscripts and proposals MUST be sent with a self-addressed stamped envelope with sufficient postage to our PO Box below.

* We do NOT accept manuscripts through e-mail.

* We ONLY accept phone queries and pitches by literary agencies.
